The men (15-1, 1st in East) continued their impressive play last weekend taking down Algonquin and La Cite, while outscoring them 218-116 in the process. Their winning streak is now at 15 games.

Week in and week out the Huskies depth gets brought up as a strength, but it is hard to ignore. It seems every game a different player is leading the charge while the others chip in. A perfect example being no Husky is averaging over 15 points this season.

Another example is the ball movement. The Huskies rank second in the province in assists per game at 23.2. It plays a key role in the team ranking first field goal percentage at 48.9% and second in points scored at 94.6.

Up first are the St. Lawrence Vikings (6-9, 8th in East), who have struggled offensively in 2020. They have only scored over 75 points once in their last five games. Less than 24 hours later, the Huskies battle the Loyalist Lancers (11-4, 3rd in East). The Lancers are currently on a two-game losing streak after winning 11 of their first 13 games.

The women (9-3, 3rd in East) are riding a high. They have won three of their last four games, none better than last Friday when they fought back from a 20-point deficit to hand the Algonquin Thunder their first loss of the season. During this little run, the Huskies have beaten two of the top four teams in the East division.

Zae Sellers and Victoria Lawrence continue to be the driving force offensively recording 36.7 of the team's 75.4 points per game. Both St. Lawrence (5-7, 5th in East) and Loyalist (5-7, 5th in East) have been better as of late winning two of their last three games.

Volleyball back at home against Canadore

Game Info: George Brown vs. Canadore
Date: Sunday, February 9th
Time: 1PM & 3PM
Location: St James Athletic Centre

The volleyball teams are back at home for the first time in three weeks this Sunday against the Canadore Panthers.

The women are becoming a very balanced squad. It has shown in their previous matches winning three of the last four. During their road trip in Ottawa, the Huskies lost a hard-fought match against Algonquin before bouncing back in a massive way the next day with a shutout victory over La Cite.

Numerous players have stepped up in the second half of the season including outside hitter Megi Memcaj. Since joining the team in 2020, she has recorded at least five points in each match. The Huskies will rely on their depth to take down the Panthers (12-3, 3rd in East).

The men still have a chance to host a playoff match. George Brown (8-7, 6th in East) is only one win back of Fleming for fourth in the division. These last three matches are huge for the Huskies to either host or travel in the first round of the playoffs.

The last time George Brown battled Canadore (11-4, 3rd in East), the Panthers came away with a five-set victory. The Huskies need to find their mojo sooner rather than later, currently sitting at 2-4 in 2020.
