HUSKIES BADMINTON WIN BOTH TEAM TITLES, SEND SIX TEAMS TO OCAA CHAMPIONSHIP AT REGIONALS

George Brown College played host to the 2019 OCAA Regional Badminton Championships over the past two days at St. James Campus, featuring athletes from six institutions vying for a spot in the OCAA Championship.

Regionals are formatted so that the top three finishers in each of the five draws qualify for Provincials, scheduled for February 15-16 at UTM.

The Huskies had a wildly successful two-day performance, headlined by Ace Zeng (Men's Singles), Anh Hoang (Women's Singles) and Alex Chao and Eric Kern (Men's Doubles) going a combined 17-0 to cruise to first place finishes in their respective draws and book spots at the OCAA Championship.

John Lee (Men's Singles), Diana Bosco and Amy Ding (Women's Doubles) and Mike Ra and Angeline (Mixed Doubles) all finished in the top-three as well, handing the Huskies a total of six Provincial Championship qualifying teams.
