HUSKIES BADMINTON SEEK REPEAT PERFORMANCE AT 2019 OCAA CHAMPIONSHIP

George Brown badminton is sending six teams to this weekend's provincial championship, where the Huskies will be looking to repeat 2018's incredible performance. Last year George Brown won the men's, women's and team titles while qualifying in four of five disciplines for the CCAA National Championship. The event will be held for the first time at the University of Toronto – Mississauga (UTM) campus on Friday and Saturday.

The Huskies were nothing short of dominant at the east regionals hosted by George Brown, taking the title in three of five disciplines and earning six top-three finishes. Those title winners included Ace Zeng (Men's Singles), Anh Hoang (Women's Singles) and Alex Chao and Eric Kern (Men's Doubles).

Also qualifying for the provincial championship were John Lee (Men's Singles), Diana Bosco and Amy Ding (Women's Doubles) and Mike Ra and Angeline Alviar (Mixed Doubles).

Rounds one through four will take place on Friday, with round five and the medal rounds scheduled for Saturday.
