HUSKIES SEASON COMES TO AN END

HUSKIES SEASON COMES TO AN END

The men's baseball team split the two games against the Seneca Sting on Wednesday (Oct. 11) night, but missed out on qualifying for the playoffs by one game.

Game 1: Seneca 5, George Brown 2
The Huskies suffered a heartbreaking loss in the first game against the Sting.

Seneca struck first, scoring two runs in the opening inning. George Brown responded thanks to a two-run RBI double from second-year player Brendan Nolet to even the score in the bottom of the fourth.

In the top of the sixth, the Sting offence at it again, thanks to Chris Rolfe. He drove in two runs off a double and later scored on a passed ball to push the lead to three. The Huskies weren't able to respond the rest of the way.

Game 2: Seneca 8, George Brown 13
In the team's final game of the season, they went out with a bang. Trailing by one in the bottom of the sixth, the team put together six runs in the frame to put it out of reach.

Third-year infielder Noah Case came up clutch in the sixth, slapping a three-run triple to the gap. First-year infielder Patrick Jannetta also chipped in with three RBIs in the victory.

First-year pitcher Raymond Li picked up his first career OCAA win, as he went four innings allowing two runs off three hits and a walk and striking out a career-high five in relief.
