HUSKIES SNATCH TWO WINS OVER SHERIDAN

The men's baseball team swept the Sheridan Bruins to improve their record 7-3 on the season on Friday (Sept. 22) night.

Game 1: Geroge Brown 11, Sheridan 4

The Huskies jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the top of the second and didn't look back the rest of the way. 

George Brown had a balanced attack as Noah Case, Peteco Marshall, Marcus Herback, Nick Manoukarakis and Patrick Jannetta all recorded at least two hits and two runs in the victory.

Third-year pitcher Michael Guardiero had his first start of the season and didn't disappoint. He surrendered three earned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two in 3 2/3 innings of work. He went on to pick up his first win of the season. 


Game 2: Geroge Brown 6, Sheridan 4

Kyle Bandura and Tom Edwards Gireau combined for five RBIs to help the Huskies hold off the Bruins in the second game.

Bandura went 2-of-3 from the plate and drove in a career-high three runs, while Gireau brought in two runs, while going 2-of-4 at the plate. First-year pitcher Nathan Brown recorded his second straight win on five innings of work and, only allowing two runs on four hits, two walks and striking out four.

The Huskies host the Lambton Lions on Saturday (Sept. 30) afternoon. The games are scheduled for 5pm and 7pm.
