NUMEROUS HUSKIES BRING OCAA HARDWARE HOME

After an impressive 17-3 season and finishing first place in the East Division, Kingslee D'Silva, Chris Fields, Haany Ahmed and Naseem Barry were recognized at the OCAA Men's Basketball Awards Banquet for their impressive seasons.

In his final collegiate basketball season, Kingslee D'Silva was named an East Division first-team All-Star. The veteran forward was a staple point for the George Brown Huskies. His high basketball IQ and effort put him in a position to succeed. He filled up the stat sheet averaging 14.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals and a block per game, while also shooting over 50% from the field. Kingslee was a crucial piece on offence hitting double-digit points in all but two games this year. Thanks to his effort and unselfish play the Huskies finished the season first in the East Division.

Chris Fields took home the East Division Defensive Player of the Year award for the second straight year. The fourth-year guard is a lockdown defender for George Brown. He is the perfect mix of agility, quickness, aggressiveness and toughness that can get under the skin of opposing players. Fields has a natural ability to force turnovers as he led the province with 3.2 steals per game and second in total steals with 57. Both of which are career-highs for him.

His intensity and engine never stops, which was a significant catalyst for the Huskies elite defence this season. Once Fields slaps his hands together, he is locked in and ready to cause havoc.
