The George Brown Huskies men's basketball team picked up their 13th straight win with an 82-71 victory over the UTM Eagles at Casa Loma Athletic Centre on Friday night.

Notable Stats: First-year forward Naseem Barry led the way for the Huskies registering 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks, while the veteran Kingslee D'Silva recorded 16 points and three rebounds.

Second-year guard Haany Ahmed chipped in with 14 points, nine assists and four steals in the victory.

How it Happened: The Huskies flexed their muscles early on against the Eagles jumping out to a 17-6 lead after the opening quarter.

As much as George Brown was hot in the first, they went ice cold in the second quarter. The team shot 38% from the field compared to UTM's 57%. The Eagles were able cut the deficit to 36-29 at halftime.

UTM continued to battle back in the second half. They took their first lead of the game at 55-53 for the first time since early in the first quarter. George Brown clawed back to take a slim 56-55 advantage into the final frame.

The Huskies offence and defence woke up in the fourth. The offence shot over 60% from the field while holding the Eagles to 40%. That allowed George Brown to outscore their opponents 26-16 and come away with the victory at home.

Up Next: The Huskies will play two games in two nights next week. Up first is the Algonquin Thunder on Friday, January 31st at Casa Loma Athletic Centre. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm.
