The Huskies Men's Basketball team continued its dominant play in the East Division, bringing their winning streak to seven after back-to-back victories at home this past weekend.

On Saturday George Brown faced off against the then-ranked #1 Loyalist Lancers who had only one defeat to their regular season record to date. After a slow start where the home team would score only 14 in the first quarter and find themselves down seven points, the Huskies refocused and got back to basics with the consistent style of play they have shown all year. The would go on to comfortably win the next three quarters, taking the game 84-61.

Christian Tabiri would be stellar from the floor, shooting a red-shot 77% going 10-13, 10 rebounds (5 offensive), and four assists, finishing with 23 points on the evening. All, in only 28 minutes of play.

His strong play would continue into Sunday when the Huskies faced the St. Lawrence College Vikings. Tabiri would again turn in a high shooting percentage going 10 of 15 from the floor (24 points) with three 3-pointers. The player of the game for the Huskies was Haany Ahmed however, who hit every statistics category - netting 20 points on 7-10 shooting, seven assists, six rebounds, five steals and two blocks for an all-around great effort on the afternoon.

That depth is what has made the Huskies so tough to compete against this season. "With the number one team in the East coming on Saturday, it was a total team effort with all 13 of our student-athletes that day playing and contributing in the game", said Head Coach Jason Dawkins. "We had nine student-athletes getting on the score sheet and limited Loyalist's high powered offense to only 61 points. And same thing on Sunday, then all 14 played and contributed to the final stat line".

George Brown scored 48 points off the bench on route to the win over the Vikings, with a final score of 103-89. The two victories jumped the Huskies (7-1) to the #1 ranked position in the OCAA.

Next up George Brown will prep for an always competitive Algonquin Thunder team as they travel to Ottawa on Saturday November 30th, followed by another back-to-back when they complete their Eastern Ontario swing trip at La Cite Collegiale on Sunday December 1st.
