MEN'S BASKETBALL TAKE FINAL GAME OF SUPER GAME DAY

In the final game of the night on the Huskies second annual Super Game Day, the men's basketball team did not dissapoint the packed house at the Alex Barbier Gym at St James Campus. 

The home team came out strong early, getting active on the glass with 17 rebounds and forcing 12 Lords turnovers. Holding a 23-12 lead going into the second quarter, the teams would play even (14-14) and the Huskies would take a 37-26 lead into halftime.

Durham would would fight back to start the second half however, outscoring George Brown 24-16 in the third quarter on 52% shooting, and closing the gap to 53-50. But the Huskies would take things in stride, keeping calm and composed throughout the fourth. 

"With a number of injured student-athletes, our game against Durham came down to being a mental game where our team had to pull together to get a hard fought victory.", said Head Coach Jason Dawkins after the game.

The Huskies caught fire in the final frame, shooting close to 70% and going 7-9 from the free throw line. Chris Fields and Naseem Barry shot a perfect 6-6 from the floor, while Haany Ahmed connected on 5-5 free throws. The Lords were also forced into eight turnovers as George Brown closed out the game.
