HUSKIES FALL TO SURGE ON THE ROAD

The George Brown College men's basketball team dropped a 76-70 decision to the St. Lawrence Surge in Kingston, Ont., on Friday night to open up their season. 

NOTABLE STATS: The Huskies got off to a slow start as they trailed 20-13 after the first quarter and ended up down 38-30 at the half. The Huskies clawed their way back in the second to retake the lead at 61-60 early in the fourth quarter. It marked the first time the team was up since the game's opening minute. Unfortunately, with George Brown up 65-61 with less than five minutes left, St. Lawrence put together a 15-5 run to end the game. 

The Huskies were anchored by first-year guard Jacob Masters, who came off the bench. In his Huskies debut, he drained four three-pointers for a team-high 19 points while adding four rebounds, two assists and one steal. 
Third-year guard Robert Ocampo filled the stat sheet with 13-points, six rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block on the night. First-year forward chipped in with 11 points, nine rebounds and a block in his collegiate debut.
