The Huskies came up just short of a late comeback, falling 80-76 to the Loyalist Lancers on the road Friday (Feb. 2) night.
HOW IT HAPPENED: George Brown got off to a slow shooting just under 30% from the the field, but only found themselves down 26-19 after the opening 10 minutes. The script filled in the second quarter for the road team as they shot 52% from the field to take a 44-39 lead into the locker room.
The Huskies were up by as much as 13 in the third quarter, but the Lancers fought back, putting together a 20-4 run in the final six minutes to take a three-point lead into the fourth quarter. George Brown couldn't retake the lead the rest of the way.
NOTABLE STATS: Fourth-year forward Christian Tabiri led the way with 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists, all of which were team-highs.
Third-year guard Jacob Masters posted 15 points, three rebounds, three steals and three assists, while third-year forward Naseem Barry tallied 12 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
George Brown's record drops to 12-4, which puts them in second place in the East Division.
