
The men's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with an 89-64 victory over the Fleming Pheonix on the road Friday (Jan. 19) night.
HOW IT HAPPENED: It was a tight contest in the first quarter as the Huskies held the slight 21-17 lead, but then they pressed on the gas pedal. They outscored the Phoenix by eight in the frame to take a 43-30 lead into the locker room.
George Brown held off a push by Fleming in the third and didn't look back the rest of the way.
NOTABLE STATS: Fifth-year guard Jeremiah Brown led the way with 17 points, five rebounds and two steals off the bench. Third-year forward Derrick Taylor filled out the stat sheet, registering 17 points, rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Fourth-year forward Christian Tabiri recorded his third double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Third-year forward Naseem Barry chipped in with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists in the victory.
George Brown record improves to 10-3 on the season, which puts them second place in the East Division.
UP NEXT: The Huskies are back in action on Friday (Jan. 26) night when they host the Algonquin Wolves. Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.
