HUSKIES SHUTOUT COUAGRS

The George Brown Huskies men's soccer team exploded offensively to beat the Sault Cougars (0-4) 6-0 on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 2) at Esther Shiner Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies struck first in the opening half. First-year midfielder Ryan Husyni opened the scoring with his first-career OCAA goal in the 23rd minute. Then, less than two minutes later, he set up Christopher Badibeng for his first-career OCAA goal. Just like that, the Huskies jumped out to a 2-0 advantage.

George Brown added to their lead off the foot of Yonis Jama. The striker received a through ball and went on to deke two players and the keeper before finding the back of the net late in the opening half. The home side went into halftime up 3-0.

Jama was at it again in the second half. After Christian Lamana got fouled in the box to set up a penalty shot, Jama made no mistake to push the lead to 4-0.

First-year defender Mark-Luis Do Coito scored his first-career OCAA goal in the 72nd and followed up five minutes later with another marker in the 79th minute.

Tiago De Jesus played keeper in Felix Ofario's absence. The second-year player only needed to make two saves to pick up the clean sheet.

UP NEXT: The Huskies (2-2) are back at in on Tuesday (Oct. 4) night. They hit the road to battle the Seneca Sting (2-1-1) at Esther Shiner Stadium. The match is set for 8:15 p.m.
