HUSKIES DROP HOME OPENER TO HAWKS

The Huskies men's soccer opened their 2021 season with a 6-0 loss to the Humber Hawks on Friday (Sept. 17) evening at Esther Shiner Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Humber did not waste any time getting on the board, as Marcos Nunes opened the scoring in the 16th minute. The visitors doubled their advantage in the 43rd minute to take a 2-0 lead into the half.

Second-year goalkeeper Felix Ofori made some spectacular saves throughout the game to keep it close, but the Hawks rallied off three goals in the first nine minutes of the second half to push it out of reach. Ofori finished the game with a career-high 10 saves in the loss.

UP NEXT: The Huskies will look to rebound on Saturday (Sept. 25), when they travel up north to battle the Sault Cougars. All the action begins at 1 p.m.
