Huskies #17 mens' soccer player passes ball

The Huskies Men's Soccer team (2-0-1) collected back to back 1-0 wins on the road versus the Centennial College Colts (1-3) and Algonquin Wolves (3-1) this week.

HOW IT HAPPENED - vs CEN: The Huskies high powered offence was on full display vs the Colts on Wednesday (Sept. 14th) evening. The visiting team recorded an astonishing 29 shots, 18 of which were on goal. Centennial goalkeeper Haruto Tomioka stood on his head, making all but one save on the evening. That lone goal was all the Huskies needed to record their first win of the season, taking the match 1-0.

What proved to be the game winner came in the opening few minutes of the game, when Huskies midfielder Mark Do Coito (2nd Year) headed in a cross off the foot of midfielder Alon Steinbach (2nd Year). It was Do Coito's third goal in two games, the second off a header from a cross into the box.

Centennial only managed to get off seven shots on the game, all three on goal being saved by Huskies 1st year goalkeeper Mabroor Butt

HOW IT HAPPENED - vs ALG: George Brown then headed to Ottawa on Friday September 17th to face the at-the-time undefeated Algonquin Wolves. Always a tough match up, the Huskies kept up the offensive pressure taking 15 shots on the game with six shots on goal. The Wolves countered however with 14 of their own, five being on goal.

The Huskies would be the ones to capitalize on those chances however, with Mark Do Coito (4) once again finding the back of the net for the Huskies on yet another header in the 64th minute. An Alon Steinbach corner kick sailed long, but was headed back across the six-yard box to a still-cutting Do Coito who burried it in the top right corner. Do Coito has recorded all of the Huskies goals so far this season.

UP NEXT: George Brown hits the field next when they head up North to Sault St. Marie and Sudbury to face Sault College (0-3) and Cambrian College (0-3). Both teams are in search of their first victories of the season. Don't miss out, watch the games LIVE on our Livestream channel!
