HUSKIES SNAP LOSING STREAK

The George Brown Huskies men's volleyball team won a five-set thriller 3-2 (27-25, 18-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-8) over the Centennial Colts on the road Friday night. Thanks to the victory, the Huskies ended a three-game losing skid in the process.

Notable Stats: Second-year right-side hitter Vivek Mathimakki was a complete beast throughout the match. He posted a career-high 29 points on 21 kills, seven blocks and an ace, while also recording a team-high seven digs. He accounted for almost half of the team's points in the marathon match recording 29 of the 60 points.

Head coach Garrett May was delighted with the team's and Vivek's effort. "We battled hard through the entire match and at the end had some courage to take some risks. Also, Vivek showed that he is deserving of some serious accolades with a stellar performance that helped give us the edge."

First-year left-side hitter Sam Delgado also experienced a career night for George Brown. He accumulated a career-high 14 points on 11 kills, two aces and a block. First-year setter Grayson Engelman registered 31 assists, four digs and four points in the win.

The Huskies improved to 7-6 on the season, which is good enough for fifth place in the East division while the Colts drop to 3-10 with the loss.
