WILSON JOINS HUSKIES VOLLEYBALL

The George Brown College Men's Volleyball program is pleased to announce that Kedar Wilson has accepted his offer and committed to play for the Huskies this upcoming season.

Wilson is the first recruit for first-year head coach, Sam Schachter, since he took over back in April. The Olympian is eager to work with the young player and see the impact he can make.

“I am very excited to work with such a talented young man. Kedar is gifted with incredible athletic ability and brings a high level of skill to the court. Kedar's intensity and competitiveness will undoubtedly help lead the Huskies to a great season,” Schachter explained.

The 6-foot-1, outside hitter from Toronto, Ont., is coming to the team from Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School. He has also spent the last couple of years honing his skills with the Leaside Volleyball Club.

The recruit has already found success in various tournaments during his young career. He helped his club earned a silver medal at the 2018 Centennial College tournament, a bronze medal at the 2020 Leaside 18U Boys Forest Hill tournament, and a finalist berth at the DCTI Sr. Boys Volleyball tournament.

“The Huskies men’s volleyball team is where I envisioned myself advancing my career as a volleyball player," Wilson explained. "I know I’ll be able to reach my potential here alongside forming new bonds with the people I meet on my path."

He will be enrolled in the Art & Design Foundation program come September.

The program has been fairly successful recently, posting a 42-30 regular season record over the past four years while qualifying for the OCAA Championship tournament in two of those four seasons.
