PADMORE COMMITS TO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The George Brown Huskies women’s basketball team is excited to welcome Naishla Padmore to the program ahead of the 2024-25 season.

“I decided to commit here because the environment I’ve seen from visiting and coming around the school and the team seemed very suiting for me and like a place I’d love to be in to continue growing myself, Padmore explained.

The 5’1 guard is graduating from Agincourt Collegiate Institute, where she helped the women’s basketball program become the City of Toronto Champions in 2022. She currently competes for the Durham Force on the club side.

She will enroll in the General Arts & Science program in September. She is ready to excel both on the court and in the classroom.

“On the court I definitely hope to push my basketball skills more and grow my knowledge and experience for the game of basketball at this level and just to play the game I love, she explained. In the classroom, I hope to learn skills and build a foundation for my future career through this program I will be taking.”

This past season, the team posted an 8-6 record and finished third in the East Division. They went on to host and win a playoff game for the first time since 2020.
