HUSKIES WIN MARATHON MATCH

The George Brown Huskies women's volleyball team took down the Centennial Colts in a five-set thriller 3-2 (18-25, 25-12, 25-14, 23-25, 15-8) on the road Friday night.

Notable Stats: First-year middle blocker Victoria Pitters registered a team-high 11 points off eight kills, two blocks and an ace. Ashley Lau chipped in with 10 points on seven kills and three aces while recording a game-high 15 digs.

Angelique Agustin continued to be impressive since switching positions from outside hitter to setter. She posted a career-high 30 assists while adding three points and 12 digs in the match.

Head coach Daphne Choi could not have been more pleased with her team's effort. "Our team played with grit and heart. Going into today's game, we asked them to focus on playing a supporting role for each of their teammates, and everyone did just that. Our athletes supported each other up or down on the scoreboard. We maintained our energy and hunger for the ball throughout the game."

The Huskies picked up their fourth victory in their last five matches and improved their record to 8-5. They currently hold the fifth spot in the East division.

Up Next: The Huskies will hit the road for two games in less than 24 hours. Up first is the Algonquin Thunder (10-2, 2nd in East) on Friday, January 31st. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
