Le continued her stellar season in an OCAA Invitational at Centennial College this past weekend.
The first-year student won the gold medal in Women’s Singles after defeating fellow Husky and second-seeded Anh Hoang in straight sets (21-11, 21-14). The final match was the only time Le surrendered double-digit points to an opponent the entire tournament. Le also earned the silver medal in Women’s Doubles with partner Hoang.
Le truly has an impressive resume already heading into the OCAA Championships in February. In just two OCAA Invitationals, she has won two golds in Women’s Singles, as well as a gold and silver medal in Women’s Doubles.
Franstelle PeBenito (Men’s Volleyball)
PeBenito put up career numbers in the Huskies match against the Fleming Knights over the weekend. The second-year middle blocker recorded a team-high 12 points on 11 kills and a block.
What was even more impressive was PeBenito’s efficiency on Saturday. He posted a game-high .647 hit percentage converting 11 kills on just 17 attacks. The next closest player in the match was just over .570.
