Ashley Lau (Women's Volleyball)
Ashley Lau was dynamite for the Huskies in a pair of games last week, but more specifically in the team’s victory over Loyalist on Saturday.
The second-year outside hitter tallied 22 points off 16 kills and six aces over two matches. Lau experienced the best match of her career against the Lancers at St James Athletic Centre on Saturday. She put up a career-high 18 points on 13 kills and five aces in a shutout victory over Loyalist. All three numbers were also game-highs in the match.
Lau is in the midst of a career season with George Brown. She has improved in almost every statistical category including kills, points per set, hit percentage and service aces.
Zuheib Mohamed (Men's Indoor Soccer)
Zuheib Mohamed played a critical role in helping the George Brown Huskies men’s indoor soccer team win their first tournament of 2020 at the Centennial Invitational on Saturday.
The fourth-year forward led the Huskies with seven goals in the tournament. He helped the defending champions go undefeated in round-robin play outscoring their opponents 23-4, which led to a finals berth against the Humber Hawks. Mohamed scored a goal in the match to even the score at 3-3 after regulation. He followed it up netting one of the Huskies penalty kicks to push them to a 5-4 shootout win.
