CURRENT, FORMER HUSKIES SHINE AT GEORGE BROWN'S ANNUAL KIM NG OPEN INVITATIONAL

CURRENT, FORMER HUSKIES SHINE AT GEORGE BROWN'S ANNUAL KIM NG OPEN INVITATIONAL

George Brown College badminton hosted the two-day Kim Ng Open Invitational over the weekend, and both current and former Huskies shone in a tournament open to both collegiate and public players.

Former Huskies great Yunji Kim paced George Brown, as the five-year former Husky nearly earned a triple crown in her return to the college. Kim earned titles in women's singles (def. Victoria Duong), women's doubles with partner Angeline Alviar (def. Christine Nguyen and Michelle Tam), and finished runner-up in mixed doubles with current Husky Ace Zeng. The former OCAA All-Star and provincial champion reminded everyone of just how good she was during her time with the program.

Zeng had himself a solid weekend as well, finishing in the top in a pair of draws. In addition to the runner-up mixed doubles finish, Zeng captured a top-four finish in men's doubles alongside partner Mike Ra.

Huskies coaches Will Schram and Howard Wong acquitted themselves well as players, as both qualified for the men's singles quarterfinals before bowing out.

See below for top-four finishers in each of the five draws. For full results from the tournament please visit http://badmintoncanada.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/winners.aspx?id=BC721465-710A-4193-84AC-1391FA1E0AE7
