HUSKIES BADMINTON OFF TO LONDON FOR FANSHAWE INVITATIONAL

HUSKIES BADMINTON OFF TO LONDON FOR FANSHAWE INVITATIONAL

Event        Fanshawe Invitational
Date          Friday, November 16 - Sunday, November 18
Location    Fanshawe College

George Brown badminton will head to their third event of the regular season today in London, looking to continue a strong start to the year.

Just as he did in 2017/18, star Ace Zeng has dominated the field early to pace the Huskies. The second-year native of China, as he so often has, won both draws he was entered in at the UTM Invitational a couple of weeks ago. Zeng teamed up with partner Anh Hoang to earn the mixed doubles title, while also sweeping his way to a victory in men's singles play. The reigning OCAA Men's Player of the Year looks to be postitioning himself well to capture that title for a second consecutive season.

On the women's side of play, Anh Hoang has led the way for a younger group. The second-year Vietnam native took home the aforementioned mixed doubles gold with partner Zeng, while also finishing in the runner-up spot in women's singles play. Diana Bosco and Musong Seo have also shown their talent, finishing in second place in women's doubles play at UTM while still getting acclimated to playing together.

Newcomer Eric Kern, a highly successful OCAA veteran, and Alex Chao have also played big roles for the men, and they'll look to continue improving with the Huskies own Invitational set for early December.
