Mike Ra (Men's Badminton)
Mike Ra teamed up with partner Angeline Alviar to take home a national silver medal in mixed doubles play over the weekend in Nova Scotia. It marks the second straight season that Ra has taken home a national medal, improving on last years bronze. He and Alviar had already won provincial gold and Ra helped lead the Huskies to a second consecutive provincial team title; he has also been named an OCAA All-Star in consecutive seasons, a major piece of one of Canada's strongest programs that has put together an incredible two-year run.
Anh Hoang (Women's Badminton)
For the second straight season, George Brown's Anh Hoang earned a silver medal in women's singles play at the national badminton championship. The Vietnam native went 5-1 before falling in the finals to Eyota Kwan, earning her spot as the second best player in the country. Hoang had had a ridiculously successful two-year run with the Huskies, leading the women's team to consecutive provincial titles, winning a pair of provincial gold medals and being named to the OCAA All-Star team in both of her seasons.
