HUSKIES BADMINTON BEGIN SEASON STRONG AT FANSHAWE TOURNAMENT

The George Brown badminton team began their season at the Fanshawe College OCAA Badminton Invitational on November 18-20 in London, Ontario. The Huskies competed in all five disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.


HOW IT HAPPENED: Returning for his second year with the team, Sarthak Arora (Sport and Event Marketing student) had a dominating performance as he finished on top of the field in single men's action finishing with a record of 5-0. Manya Taneja (1st Year), finished tied for third in women's singles action and finished with a record of 3-1. In women's doubles play, Monique Lee (1st Year) and Giselle Kochapanya (1st Year) finished in second place in women's doubles action and ended the tournament with  a 3-1 record. In mixed doubles action, Sarthak Arora and Monique Lee finished with a 5-0 record to bring home the gold medal.


UP NEXT: The Huskies are back in action again on December 17 and 18 as they host the 37th Annual George Brown College Kim Ng Open at the Casa Loma Athletic Centre.
