HUSKIES EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO FIVE

The George Brown Huskies men's basketball team downed the Durham Lords 92-68 to extend their winning streak to five on the road Wednesday night.

NOTABLE STATS: Fourth-year forward Julian Hinckson Jr., had his best career game with the Huskies, and it came against his former team. He put up a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. Fourth-year guard Robert Ocampo recorded 18-points on the night. He went 4-for-10 from beyond the arc and 6-for-10 from the field while adding five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Three other Huskies recorded double-digit points on the night. Fifth-year guard Teshayn Gayle registered a double-double of 12 points and 10 assists. Third-year forward Jaelon Stith had 13 points and four rebounds, while fourth-year guard Tyvell Peters tallied 10 points, three rebounds and two steals.

The Huskies started strong against the Lords thanks to Ocampo. He recorded 14 points in the first half as George Brown took a 44-30 lead into the locker room. The defensive intensity was on full display in the third quarter. They held the Lords, who came shooting 48.6% from the field to 33.3% in the third quarter. With that help, the Huskies were up 69-44, heading into the fourth quarter, and they did not look back.

With the win, George Brown sits in second place in the OUA East Division with a 5-2 record.

UP NEXT: The Huskies wrap up their regular season on Friday, March 4th, when they host the Seneca Sting (2-4, 7th East) at Casa Loma Athletic Centre. Tip off is scheduled for 8:00 pm.

Before the game, the Huskies will honour all the graduating student-athletes.
