    On Friday, March 31st, the George Brown Huskies hosted the 53rd edition of their annual Athletic Banquet.

    David Kiswa was named East Division second team all-star and member of the OCAA men's volleyball all-rookie team at the 2023 Men's Volleyball Provincial Championhip awards banquet on Thursday February 23, 2023.

  • HUSKIES MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FINISH SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE

    The George Brown men’s volleyball team (3-15) hosted the hosted the Algonquin Wolves (13-5) Friday (Feb 10) and the La Cite Coyotes (0-18) on Saturday (Feb 11). The Huskies would drop their match against the Wolves 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 25-15, 25,18) but redeem themselves the following day by winning in three straight sets against the Coyotes (25-22, 25-16, 25-21), and end their regular season on a high note.

    The George Brown women’s volleyball team (11-5) lost in five sets (25-18, 25-14, 25-23, 25-22, 15-13) against the Loyalist Lancers (5-12) Saturday afternoon (Feb 4). The men’s team (2-14) lost in four sets to the Lancers (25-18, 25-16, 25-20, 25-18).

    The George Brown women’s volleyball team (10-4) fell to the undefeated Durham Lords (14-0) in three straight sets 25-17, 25-11, 25-15. The men’s volleyball team (2-11) also fell to the Lords (7-6) in a four-set battle 25-22, 25-19, 25-22, 26-24 on Saturday (Jan 28).

    The George Brown women and men’s volleyball teams travelled through a snowstorm to Peterborough, Ontario Wednesday evening (Jan 25) to take on the Fleming Knights. The women’s team improved to 10-3 on the season winning in three straight sets (25-16, 25-23, 25-11) while the men’s team (2-11) lost a hard-fought battle in three sets (25-21, 25-12, 25-23).

    n Saturday (Jan 21), the George Brown women’s volleyball team (9-3) found the win column again after defeating the Georgian Grizzlies (4-9) in three straight sets 25-14, 25-18, 25-16 at the Casa Loma Athletic Centre. On the men’s side, the Huskies (2-10) came up short against the Grizzlies (12-1) as they fell in three straight sets 25-17, 25-16, 25-20.

    The 2021-22 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) All-Academic awards are presented to full-time varsity student-athletes that meet honours standards at their respective institutions, having successfully completed one academic semester. Student-athletes receive an OCAA All-Academic certificate for achieving honours status in the semester in which they are a varsity athlete.
