Varsity Event Staff (Various)

The George Brown College Department of Athletics and Recreation is currently accepting resumes for the in-person part-time staff position of Varsity Event Staff for the 2023-2024 season, starting in August

George Brown College Varsity Event Staff are entrusted with all details regarding the hosting of varsity home games. It’s a great way to get involved and contribute to the GBC Husky spirit! This position will give you the chance to build on your interpersonal skills, become more team-oriented, and enhance your organizational skills and problem-solving abilities. The athletic events staff is a fun and friendly environment to work in, which will add to your college experience. Length of Employment August 2023 to April 2024.

Specific positions on the team include:

  • Event Staff/General (ALL POSITIONS FILLED)
  • Scorekeeper/Statistician (ALL POSITIONS FILLED)
  • In-Arena Announcer/DJ (ALL POSITIONS FILLED)
  • Husky Mascot (ALL POSITIONS FILLED)

 
Athletic Centre Student Ambassadors

The George Brown College Department of Athletics and Recreation is currently accepting resumes for the in-person part-time staff student position of Athletic Centre Student Ambassador for the 2023-2024 academic year

Athletic Centre Student Ambassadors are the lifeline of the College's Athletic Centres. With duties at the front desk, weight room and gymnasium, it’s a great way to get involved and contribute to the GBC athletics & recreation community! This position will give you the chance to build on your interpersonal and communication skills, become more team-oriented, and enhance your problem-solving abilities. The Athletic Centre Student Ambassador team is a fun and friendly environment to work in, which will add to your college experience. Length of Employment August 2023 to April 2024, with possibility of summer extension.


 
Campus Recreation Student Ambassadors

The George Brown College Department of Athletics and Recreation is currently accepting resumes for the in-person part-time staff student position of Campus Recreation Student Ambassador for the 2023-2024 academic year

Campus Recreation Student Ambassadors are front and centre of our recreation programs. Assisting with the execution of drop-in sports, leagues, tournaments and other recreation and wellness activities, it’s a great way to get involved and contribute to the GBC recreation community! This position will give you the chance to build on your interpersonal and communication skills, become more team-oriented, and develop experience in sporting event planning. The Campus Recreation Student Ambassador team is a fun and friendly environment to work in, which will add to your college experience. Length of Employment August 2023 to April 2024.


 
Team Equipment Assistants (Various)

The George Brown College Department of Athletics and Recreation is currently accepting resumes for the in-person part-time staff student position of Varsity Team Equipment Assistant for the 2023-2024 academic year

Varsity Team Equipment Assistants are valuable members of our varsity sports teams. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment and uniforms are prepared, distributed, set-up and returned for practices and games, and more. This position will give you the chance to build on your interpersonal, time management and organizational skills, and become more team-oriented. Our varsity sports teams are fun and competitive environments to work in, which will add to your college experience. Length of Employment August 2023 to April 2024.

Student Tutor - Varsity Athletics

The George Brown College Department of Athletics and Recreation is currently accepting resumes for the hybrid part-time staff student position of Student Tutor - Varsity Athletics for the 2023-2024 academic year

Student Tutors for Varsity Athletics are valuable members of our varsity academic support service team. Student tutors help provide academic assistance to varsity athletes by reviewing course material, personalizing instruction and helping tutee identify their strengths and weaknesses in a particular subject area. This position will give you the chance to build on your interpersonal and communication skills, as well as organization and presentation abilities. Our varsity academic support services team is a cooperative and engaging environment to work in, which will add to your college experience. Length of Employment September 2023 to April 2024.
