MEN’S BASEBALL BRINGS IN GIBBS

MEN’S BASEBALL BRINGS IN GIBBS

The George Brown Huskies men’s baseball team is excited to welcome Daniel Gibbs to their roster as he commits to joining the program starting this September.

“Daniel brings a great versatility of 'plus' tools to the team, which includes the ability to play all over the field, give us quality innings, put together strong at bats, and utilize his speed. He plays the game tremendously hard, is an excellent teammate, and we are truly thrilled that he has chosen to join us at George Brown,” head coach Josh Appel explained. “He is a hard-nosed player and respects the game, which is a great fit for the culture we embody within our program at George Brown.”

The Ajax, Ont., native has experience playing all over the diamond at shortstop, third base, outfield and pitcher. He spent the last few seasons with the Oshawa Legionnaires program. During his time there, he helped the 15U team win the PBLO Championship and was named a PBLO All-Star game as a pitcher in 2022. He will play for the Legionnaires U18 team over the summer.

“I decided to commit to George Brown because I love the area of downtown Toronto, and because of the energy I received when I went to visit for a practice, I felt welcomed,” Gibbs explained. I believe that George Brown's academics and athletics can take me to my next steps in life.”

He will enroll in the Pre-Health Sciences program. He's ready to accomplish his goals on and off the field in September.

“I hope to grow as a person as a whole. Ranging from getting bigger and better as a ball player and becoming a practical nurse,” he explained.

The men's baseball program had another strong season, finishing with an 8-10 record. The team just missed the playoffs by one game.
