STING SHUTOUT HUSKIES

STING SHUTOUT HUSKIES

The George Brown Huskies men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to the Seneca Sting (4-1-1) in the season finale on Friday (Oct. 8th) at Esther Shiner Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The first half was a very defensive affair between the two sides. Despite that, Seneca was able to strike first, thanks to Christopher Munoko. He redirected a pass perfectly into the bottom corner to open the scoring. The score remained 1-0 at the half.

In the first 10 minutes of the second half, the Huskies dominated possession but couldn't get any shots on the net. The lack of chances was their downfall in this match. The Sting pressure on the Huskies defence at midfield caused a turnover and just like that Seneca had a two-on-one. Once again, Munoko found the back of the net to double the lead in the 56th minute. The Sting scored two more goals in the next 12 minutes to put it out of reach.

UP NEXT: The Huskies (2-4) finished third in the Central Division, which means they qualified for the playoffs. The team will travel in their first-round match on Saturday, October 16th. Stay tuned to find out George Brown's opponent and time.
