STEINBACH JOINS HUSKIES

STEINBACH JOINS HUSKIES

The Huskies Men's Soccer program is pleased to announce the addition of Alon Steinbach for the upcoming 2021-2022 season.

"I decided to join the men's soccer program because I have played competitive soccer my entire life. It was a very important part of my life when I lived in Tel Aviv, Israel and I wanted to continue that passion here in Canada. It was an easy decision to join the team after I spoke to the head coach, Johnny [Williams]. I can't wait for the season to start and help the team reach their goals," Steinbach explained.

The midfielder joins the Huskies squad after playing soccer in Israel. The teams he has dressed for include, Beitar Petah Tikva, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Ramat Gam. He currently plays for Alliance United of League1 Ontario.

"It's always nice when you get a quality player that understands the game," head coach John Williams explained. "He will add depth to the position and will help us be a difficult team to play against this season."

The 5'11 midfielder has numerous goals he plans to accomplish both on and off the field.

"I am so happy that I get to continue to pursue my passion of soccer while getting an education," he explained. "I hope to continue to play soccer as long as I can, and would like to learn more about the business behind sports. I believe my diploma will help with this."

Steinbach is currently enrolled in the Business Program.

The Huskies open their 2021 season, when they host their rival the Humber Hawks on Friday, September 17th at Esther Shiner Stadium. The action begins at 8:30pm.
