Dave Kelly (2nd Season)
Title: Women's Soccer Head Coach (2nd Season)

Dave Kelly joins George Brown College as the new head coach of the Huskies women's soccer program ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Kelly comes from Simcoe County Rovers League 1 women’s team, where he most recently won the Trent-Severn Cup on route to a promotion to the Premier Division of the league. He also spent four seasons at the helm of Blackpool FC women’s team in England, having earned two promotions, two league titles and two runner-up spots, as well as one league cup.

Kelly also has experience with Team Ontario U15 and U16 and was part of the support staff for Canada’s National Development Centre for Ontario. He holds a Canada A License, UEFA B and is also a coach developer and license facilitator to Ontario & Canada Soccer. With an additional background as a high school teacher, coach Kelly will bring a great leadership to the Huskies women both off and off the field.

The team was competitive in the East Division in Kelly's first outdoor season. Led by their offence that finished top six in goals, shots, assists and corner kicks, the team finished sixth with a 4-5-1 record. Their season was highlighted by the program's largest win margin with a 13-0 victory over the Fleming Phoenix on September 15th. In their first-round playoff match against the Centennial Colts, the Huskies dropped a narrow 2-1 decision in penalties.

The indoor season was a learning experience full of injuries and adversity. With a shorthanded team, the Huskies were a thorn in their opponents’ side, especially at the Regional Championships. At Regionals, the team finished third in their pool with a two-and-two record and missed qualifying for Provincials after tiebreakers.
