HUSKIES HEAD INTO PLAYOFFS ON HIGH

Anan Abbatulam led the charge with a career night to lead the Huskies to a 74-57 victory over the Centennial Colts in the final game of the season on Friday (Feb. 9) night at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Finding themselves down six, 26-20, after the opening 10 minutes, the Huskies exploded in the second quarter. They outscored the Colts 23-10 in the frame to take a 43-36 lead into the locker room. 

The third quarter was very similar, as George Brown put up 22 points compared to Centennial's 11. George Brown didn't look back the rest of the way.

NOTABLE STATS: First-year forward Abbatulam had a career night with 18 points and 13 rebounds, marking her first double-double off the bench.

First-year guard Adrienne Williamson posted 11 points, eight rebounds, a block and a steal, while second-year guard Ava Proskos dropped 11 points, five assists and two steals on her graduation night.

George Brown finished the season third in the East Division with a 8-6 record.

GRADUATING STUDENTS
 

George Brown College Athletics and Recreation would like to thank our graduating students for their commitment to the team over their Huskies careers. Our 2023-24 graduating Women's Basketball student-athletes are: 


#11 Ava Proskos
Since her arrival in 2022, Ava has been instrumental in the team's achievements. With an average of 6.6 points, 2.7 assists, and nearly a steal per game across 25 games, she has demonstrated consistent performance. Her leadership qualities, determination, and drive have made a significant impact both on and off the court. Ava will graduate from the Social Service Worker program.

#19 Aaliyah Palmer
Aaliyah has been a steady presence on the Huskies women's basketball team since last season. Playing in 18 games, she has exhibited remarkable passion and tenacity, leaving a lasting impression with her contributions. Aaliyah will graduate from the Community Worker program.
