The George Brown Huskies men's indoor soccer team kicked off their championship defense in the best way by winning the Centennial Invitational on Saturday.
The Huskies were dominant in round-robin play. They outscored their opponents in Laurier Brantford, Sheridan, University of Toronto Mississauga and Lakehead, 23-4 to finish 4-0 and win the group.
They advanced the final where they battled the Humber Hawks. The two undefeated squads went back-and-forth throughout the match. After regulation, the score was tied a 3-3, which meant shootout. Similar to the match, both sides had their moments, but George Brown edged out Humber 5-4 in the shootout to win the tournament.
Fourth-year forward Zuheib Mohamed led the Huskies with seven goals in the tournament.
