This past year has been very difficult for all our student-athletes, with no competitive sport seasons and the majority of academic program delivery moving online. We therefore wanted to take time to highlight the Huskies that have committed to continuing on with their teams for the prospective 2021-2022 season.
We are proud to put a spotlight on these student-athletes and are very excited to see what the future holds for their teams.
If you are interested in joining the pack and trying out for one of our Huskies varsity teams, fill out our Prospective Athlete Form and a Varsity Coordinator or Coach will be in touch with you directly.

Badminton |
The Huskies Badminton program, should be considered one of the most dominant teams in the country. Over the last three seasons, the program has claimed the school's first CCAA National banner, eight CCAA National medals, 11 OCAA Provincial medals, and five men's and women's OCAA Team Championships. The team is in a great position to continue this trend, as the defending CCAA National champion and former CCAA silver medalist are both parts of the group returning to the program.

At the 2020 Virtual Athletic Banquet, the Huskies Athletic & Recreation department awarded Le with the Female Athlete of the Year and Female Rookie of the Year awards.

The following season, he earned the Provincial silver medal and helped the men's team claim their second straight OCAA Team Championship. He went on to finish fourth at the CCAA National Championships. If not for the pandemic, Zeng looked to be primed for another great season in 2019-20. He started the campaign by winning gold in Mix Doubles and silver in Men's Singles at the Fanshawe Invitational. Unfortunately, due to border restrictions in China at the beginning of the pandemic, Zeng could not travel back to Canada after the winter holidays.

Biollo would have been a new addition to the roster for 2020-21 season as part of the Huskies' 2020 recruitment class alongside Pangan and Tyrell. The guard played varsity basketball at l'École Maurice-Lavallée as well as Harry Ainlay high school in Edmonton, Alberta. She brings versatility to the team as she has played point guard, shooting guard, and small forward in the past. Biollo adds depth, three-point shooting and a high basketball IQ to the team. |
Men's Soccer

Women's Soccer |
There are many reasons to be excited for the Women's Soccer program, which experienced one of their best campaigns in recent history in both outdoor and indoor play during the 2019-2020 season. The outdoor team tallied five wins in nine matches in 2019, which was the most victories by the program in the last seven years. While in the indoor season, the team was a defensive juggernaut. They surrendered more than two goals in only three of 22 matches in 2020 and went on to qualify for the OCAA Provincial Championship.

The Women's Volleyball program has been heading in the right direction over the last two seasons. In 2018-19, they finished with an 8-10 record and placed 5th in the East Division, which qualified them for the program's first crossover playoff match since the program was inaugurated in 2006-07. The very next season, they took another massive step as they posted a program-best 11-7 record and placed fourth in the East Division. It marked the first time the program hosted a crossover playoff match. Under fifth-year head coach, Daphne Choi, the team is in a perfect position to make even more noise down the road. Here are the student-athletes who have committed to returning in the fall.
