George Brown Women's Soccer (2-3-2) came up one goal short on Saturday night (Oct 1) at Esther Shiner Civic Stadium, falling to the St. Lawrence Surge (2-5) by a score of 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies got on the board in the 18th minute when Nicole Carvalho (5th Year) scored an unassisted goal, her first of the season, to bring the match to a 1-1 tie after St. Lawrence's Haley Gordon opened the scoring in the 6th minute.

The second half opened with the Surge's Haley Gordon scoring her second goal of the game in the 46th minute, followed by another Surge goal in the 50th minute by Caitlynn Frew, giving St. Lawrence a two-goal advantage. Just a few minutes later, George Brown's Agnes Yung (1st Year) brought the Huskies to within one, but Gordon completed her hat trick in the 71st minute with an unassisted goal which would prove to be the eventual game winner. With nine minutes to go, Huskies' Nicole Carvalho would bring the game to within one again after scoring her second goal of the game, a rebound off a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box, but that is as close as the Huskies would come.

Huskies goalkeeper Mahima Patil (2nd Year) saw a total of 16 shots on goal saving 12, while the Huskies as a team were able to get off 15 shots on goal of their own including six from Nicole Carvalho and three from Cynthia Pellegrino (5th Year).

With this loss the Huskies are now 2-3-2 with a total of eight points, currently sitting in sixth place in the OCAA East Division.
