ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Athletes of the Week; Victoria Broomer women's soccer, and Tyler Romandel men's baseball

Women's soccer goalkeeper Victoria Broomer and men's baseball infielder Tyler Romandel have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week for the period ending September 18th.

First year goalkeeper Victoria Broomer recorded 14 saves on route to a shutout 0-0 draw vs the Centennial Colts on Wednesday September 14th. The Colts logged a total of 21 shots on the evening, with Broomer standing tall and deterring everything that came her way. So far this season the standout rookie has tallied 26 saves in three games with only four goals against, all coming in a 4-0 loss to Durham College.

Tyler Romandel had a big hand to play in two OCAA baseball records from the week ending Sept. 18, 2022. Romandel tied the OCAA record for most runs in a game by an individual player, crossing the plate 5 times in a nailbitting 19-18 loss in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Durham Lords on Sept. 14. The second year HVAC Technician student went 2-2 with a double and a single, also drawing three walks and recording two RBIs. Romandel capped off an impressive stats evening by also stealing five bases on the game.
