ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Athletes of the week; kyle Bandura men's baseball, Daniel Farrace Men's Baseball

Men's Baseball centre fielder Kyle Bandura and Men's Baseball catcher/outfielder Daniel Farrace have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week for the period ending October 16, 2022.

The Huskies clinched the final spot in the Men's Baseball OCAA Championship tournament by beating the Seneca Sting 12-3 in their final regular season game of the year. It is the second time George Brown has qualified for the provincial championship, following an October 2021 appearance last year.

Kyle Bandura (Men's Baseball)

The victory was in large part thanks to the offensive contributions of 6'4" centre fielder Kyle Bandura at the plate. Bandura recorded two hits on the night, none more important than his big 3-run RBI double in the top of the 6th inning that put the Huskies lead out of reach at 11-2. He also recorded two runs to his credit, drew a walk and had a stolen base.

Daniel Farrace (Men's Baseball)

Huskies jack-of-all-trades Daniel Farrace (2nd Year) was a huge contributor to the team's playoff clinching win. The versatile player saw time in left field as well as behind the plate in the victory. When at the plate himself, the graduating Construction Techniques student went 2-4 recording two doubles, bringing in three RBI, and drawing a walk. He also crossed the plate for two runs himself in the big win.

With the win, Bandura and the Huskies head to Windsor, ON for the OCAA Championship where they will face the Fanshawe Falcons in their opening round matchup at 4pm on Thursday October 20, 2022.
