The men's basketball team fought back from a 15-point deficit in the second half to beat the Seneca Sting 72-62 at home on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies got off to a slow start, trailing 45-30 at halftime. The team responded by locking in defensively, surrendering just four baskets the rest of the way. Led by Naseem Barry's 14 points in the second half, the Huskies outscored the Sting 42-17.
A key turning point came midway through the third quarter. With the Huskies trailing 60-53 and their offense stalling for several possessions, D'Shawn Nicely hit back-to-back three-pointers in less than 30 seconds, cutting the deficit to one. From there, the Huskies maintained their momentum and secured the win.
NOTABLE STATS: Barry led the way with 20 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, three assists, and two steals off the bench. Katrel Johnson was right behind him with 16 points, six rebounds, three steals and a block, while Kaylem Liburd-Mullings chipped in with 11 points, four assists, two rebounds and a steal.
UP NEXT: The Huskies (3-4) will have 10 days off before hosting the Georgian Grizzlies (5-1) on Friday, Nov. 22. These teams met in the season opener, where the Grizzlies won 99-82. Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.
