HUSKIES EDGED OUT BY GEORGIAN

The Men's Basketball team fell in their season opener, 99-82, to the Georgian Grizzlies on the road Friday (Oct. 18) night.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies offence came out strong, with six players scoring to take a 22-12 lead after the first quarter. Georgian responded in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to 36-35 at halftime.

The Grizzlies carried that momentum into the third quarter, holding George Brown to 35% shooting from the field compared to their 58%, taking a 66-55 lead heading into the fourth. The Huskies started the final frame with a 19-13 run to get within five points, but that was as close as they got.

NOTABLE STATS: Fifth-year shooting guard Jevon Fray-Woodbine went 6-of-12 from the field and 5-of-9 from three-point range for a team-high 18 points.

Nas Robert contributed 15 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block, while Naseem Barry added 12 points, 11 rebounds, and a block.

NEXT UP: The Huskies (0-1) look to bounce back in their home opener on Friday (Oct. 25) against the Algonquin Wolves (0-0). Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.
