HUSKIES FINISH THIRD AT REGIONALS

The George Brown Huskies women's indoor soccer team finished third in their pool, going 2-2 at Regionals on Monday (Feb. 26) afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED: George Brown got off to a great start. They took down the Lambton Lions by a score of 2-1 and followed it up with a 2-0 shutout victory over the Redeemer Royals.

In the third match against the Centennial Colts, the offence couldn't find the back of the net to fall 3-0.

The day's final match was a nail-biter against the St. Clair Saints. The score was 1-1 in the second half, the Huskies had numerous chances but couldn't cash in early on. That left the door open for the Saints to score three unanswered goals in the frame to take it 4-1.

UP NEXT: The Huskies still can qualify for a wildcard spot at the Provincial Championships depending on the results in the other two Regional pools.

If they earn the wildcard, the OCAA Provincial Championships occur on March 7-8 at the Ontario Soccer Centre.
