The Men's and Women's teams look to begin the New Year on a high note when they host the Centennial Colts on Friday night.

The Women's team (6-2, 2nd in East) ended the 2019 calendar year winning four of their last five games. Despite a 2-6 record, Centennial is still in the mix for a playoff spot.

The Huskies are coming off an impressive showing in the Sting Classic at Seneca College last weekend. After dropping their first game to Lambton by five points, they picked up victories over Loyalist and Seneca College to win the consolation championship. Tip-off is scheduled for 6PM.

The Men (9-1, 1st in East) are attempting to extend their winning streak to double-digits against Centennial. The Colts (6-4, 5th in East) are looking to extend their own streak to three-straight wins.

Last weekend the Huskies displayed why they're the number one team in the OCAA. As the host, George Brown captured the 42nd Annual Huskies Men's Basketball Tournament championship for the second straight year last weekend. They accomplished this without the services of leading scorers Christian Tabiri, Naseem Barry and sniper Robert Ocampo.

George Brown's high-octane offence will be tested at home against one of the top defensive teams in the province. Game time in at 8PM.

Badminton travels to Centennial for OCAA Invitational

Game info: Centennial Invitational
Date: January 10th-12th
Location: Centennial College

The nationally ranked #2 George Brown College heads to Centennial to take part in an OCAA invitational.

Led by three key players, the team was simply dominant in the first part of the season. Anh Hoang earned a total of three golds and one silver in two OCAA Invitationals, while Mixed Doubles partner Yuge (Ace) Zeng has collected a gold and three silver medals so far this season.

Newcomer Huyen Le grabbed attention with her impressive play in 2019. At the Humber Cup, she captured the gold medal in Women's Singles and Women's double with partner Hoang.

The Men's and Women's teams attempt to continue the momentum they ended with in 2019 against the Fleming Knights on Saturday afternoon.

The Women's team (5-4, 5th in East) hope to continue to climb up the standings versus the winless Knights (0-9, 10th in East). The Huskies capped off the 2019 portion of the season with a 3-0 win over Centennial. Jessica Barrios was very efficient recording eight kills on a season-best .316 hit percentage. First serve is scheduled for 1PM.

The Men's team (6-3, 4th in East) won their last two games of 2019 to put themselves in a position to make some noise in 2020. Fleming (5-4, 5th in East) is nipping at their heels looking to do the same. George Brown hopes their balanced attack of Yuseph Jackman, Vivek Mathimakki, Avery Titus and Stefane Vezina will be too much for the Knights to handle. Game time is scheduled for 3PM.
