The George Brown Huskies badminton team is finally back on the court after more than two years. It starts with the Provincial Championship at Epic Sports Badminton Club March 3-5. Eight Huskies are penciled in for various disciplines, and the women search for their fourth straight team title.

Men's Singles
Ace Zeng is back with the Huskies and hoping to add to his already impressive resume in Men’s Singles, which includes a CCAA silver medal (2018), an OCAA gold medal (2018) and OCAA Men’s Player of the Year (2018) to name a few. This will be his first OCAA Provincials since 2019, after taking the second half of the 2019-2020 season off due to the global pandemic. Do not be surprised if his name comes up again this time around.

The other Husky competing in Men’s Singles is Sarthak Arora. This is his first season with the program and he is looking to challenge for a medal and help the men win a team title. 

Men's Doubles
Jean Wesley Manalang and Jerick Rodriguez are slotted in Men’s Doubles. One can see the chemistry between the two at practice, and they are ready to make some noise at the Championships. Rodriguez is a multisport athlete and also the starting libero for the Huskies men’s volleyball. His defensive instincts on the volleyball court have been transferable onto the badminton court.

Women's Singles
First-year player, Riddhi Sampat, is pencilled in to compete in her first OCAA tournament this week. 

Women’s Doubles
The first-year pair of Sienna Tyler and Patricia Gazmen will get their chance to make an impression in the OCAA. This is the first time these players are competing in an OCAA tournament. 

Mixed Doubles
Amiel Dela Rosa and Fiona Kwan are teamed up for the Mixed Doubles category. Kwan brings experience to the team as she qualified for the 2020 OCAA Provincial Championships in Women’s Doubles with Diana Bosco after winning a bronze medal at the Regional Championship. One of the best traits in Dela Rosa's game is his athleticism, which is always on display for the Huskies men’s volleyball team this season.
