HUSKIES BADMINTON FIND SUCCESS AT EAST REGIONALS

The George Brown badminton team participated in the East Regional Championships on February 3 and 4 hosted by College Boreal in Sudbury, Ontario. 

Representing the Huskies in the men's single discipline was Jestive Taipan (1st Year) and Matthew Susnik (1st Year) while Dung Erik Nguyen (2nd Year) & Roozbeh Khakpour (1st Year) competed in men's doubles. Giselle Kochapanya (1st Year) competed in women's singles and Monique Lee (1st Year) & Sarthak Arora (2nd Year) competed in mixed doubles.

Giselle Kochapanya finished in second place collecting the silver medal in the women's singles disciplines at the OCAA East Regional Championships hosted by Collège Boréal in Sudbury over the weekend (Feb 3 and 4). The Event Planning student, finished the tournament with a 1-1 record, enough to advance to the OCAA Provincial Championships scheduled to take place February 16-18.

Both Sarthak Arora and Monique Lee represented George Brown in the mixed doubles discipline at the OCAA East Regional Championships and brought home the gold medal. Arora (Project Management student) and Lee (Computer Systems Technician student), finished with a 3-0 record and will now advance to the OCAA Provincial Championships alongside teammate Giselle Kochapanya.
