STING EDGE HUSKIES

STING EDGE HUSKIES

On Tuesday (Oct. 5th) night at Esther Shiner Stadium, the George Brown Huskies women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to the No. 3 Seneca Sting (5-0).

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies defence was in tough against one of the top offences in the country. They held them in check for most of the first half despite the Sting firing 23 shots towards the net. Seneca eventually got on the board, thanks Shanice Alfred and Megan Arsenault in the 16th and 35th minutes, respectively. George Brown went into the half trailing 2-0.

The Sting's offence kept firing on all cylinders. Alfred scored the following two goals in the 49th and 69th minute to record the hat-trick. The opponents added another one in the 70th minute.

First-year goalkeeper Mahima Patil made 13 saves in the loss.

UP NEXT: The Huskies (2-3) will have their chance at revenge in the season finale on Friday night against the Sting at Esther Shiner Stadium. All the action begins at 6:30 pm.

Before the final home game of the season, George Brown will honour its graduating student-athletes.
