Women’s soccer defender Brianna Samuels-McLaughlin and baseball standout Aiden Colangelo have been named Huskies athletes of the week for the period ending September 19.
Over two games, Colangelo went 4-for-7 at the plate with a .571 batting average, hitting three singles and a double. He knocked in three RBIs, scored two runs, stole a base and had two walks on Sunday. He specifically led the charge in the second game on Sunday afternoon.
The first-baseman recorded a team-high four hits and three RBIs in the team’s 12-10 come from behind victory to split the weekend series. The Huskies split the doubleheader series with the Colts.
Against one of the best teams in the province, third-year defender Samuels-McLaughlin played very well for the Huskies. She was the anchor on the backline and made her presence felt in the 9-0 loss to the Hawks.
