HUSKIES DROP DOUBLEHEADER TO LORDS

The George Brown Huskies men's baseball team dropped both games to the Durham Lords (6-5) on the road Thursday (Oct. 7th) at Kinsmen Stadium.

Game 1: George Brown 0, Durham 8

The Lords knocked around the Huskies ace, David De Cassan, to jump out to a 7-0 advantage after three innings. George Brown was only able to put together five hits the entire game.

Game 2: George Brown 3, Durham 6

This time around, the Huskies got on the board first. In the opening inning, Aiden Colangelo brought in Kyle Bandura with an RBI double to jump out to 1-0 lead. However, the Lords responded in the bottom half, putting up three runs to take a 3-1 lead heading into the second inning. Durham added to their advantage in the third and fourth to make it 6-1 after four innings.

The score remained the same until the top of the seventh when George Brown made things interesting. The team loaded the bases with no outs. Daniel Farrace brought in the first run on a ground out, and Colangelo followed it up with a sacrifice fly to bring in the third run of the game for the Huskies. The rally ended when Nathan Pruitt strikeout with a runner at third.

Michael Guardiero was the starter for the Huskies. The first-year pitcher allowed six runs on seven hits in three and a third innings of work.
