HUSKIES DROP PAIR OF GAMES TO SAINTS

HUSKIES DROP PAIR OF GAMES TO SAINTS

The George Brown Huskies men's baseball team came up short in the doubleheader against the St. Clair Saints on Sunday (Sept. 26) afternoon.

Game 1: George Brown 1, St. Clair 11

The Huskies got off to a fast start in the opening inning. After Brady Wagenhoffer hit a double, Aiden Colangelo knocked in his team-high fourth RBI of the season to open the scoring.

Their lead evaporated quickly, though, as the Saints hit three home runs in three straight innings. From there, St. Clair did not look back.

Fourth-year pitcher David De Cassan scattered eight hits and six earned runs on five innings of work while striking out three.

Game 2: George Brown 0, St. Clair 19

The Saints kept the momentum going into the second game of the doubleheader. They knocked around Huskies starter Manuel Lopez Rodriguez for nine runs in the opening inning and did not look back.

Notable Stats

#13 Brady Wagenhoffer

He was one of the only Husky players that had success throughout the doubleheader against the St. Clair Saints. He went 3-for-5 in the two games with two doubles and accounted for the team's only run.

UP NEXT: The Huskies (1-3) hit the road for the first time this season for a pair of doubleheaders. At first, they battle the Humber Hawks (5-0) on Friday (Oct. 1) night. Then, the team follows that up against the Fanshawe Falcons (3-3) on Saturday afternoon. The first game is at 1 p.m., while the second game begins at 3:30 p.m.
