The women's basketball team heads into the season's final week with a 2-4 (5th East) record. They still have a chance to host a first-round playoff game at Casa Loma Athletic Centre, but they need to win both games this week.

It starts against the Durham Lords (3-3, 4th East) on the road Wednesday night. This will be the second meeting between these two teams in five days. The last time they meant, Huskies lost 76-54 on their home court.

The Huskies then wrap up their season at home when they host the winless Seneca Sting (0-5, 8th East). This could be the perfect opportunity for the offence to get back on track heading into the playoffs as the Sting rank last in the OCAA in points allowed per game (75.2), and in the bottom five in the rest of the defensive categories.

The CCAA No. 11 men's basketball team (4-2, 2nd East) are on a roll, currently on a four-game winning streak with two games remaining. The Huskies are in a three-way tie for second place in the East Division. However, to ensure they host a first-round playoff game, they need to win out to ensure this.

The team's defence has been nothing short of spectacular. They have only surrendered more than 76 points once this season. The Huskies will have their hands full in their first game of the week against the Durham Lords (3-3, 6th East), who are just one game back of the Huskies. The Lords are a highly efficient offence ranking third in field goal percentage (48.6%) and fourth in three-point percentage (34.4%)

The Huskies will honour all the graduating student-athletes prior to each game in the final home game of the season on Friday.

Players to Watch

Robert Ocampo (men's basketball): The sharpshooter has been on fire after a slow start. In his last two games, the fourth-year guard is averaging 22 points, compared to around nine points in the first four games. He has been especially deadly from deep, going 13-of-20 (65%) from three-point range.

In the team's victory over the Algonquin Wolves, he hit a career-high seven threes on just 11 shots for a team-high 21 points while adding two assists and two steals.

Mariam Konate (women's basketball): The second-year guard checked off some career firsts or highs in the game against the Durham Lords on Friday night. The second-year guard tallied her first career double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, both of which were also career-highs in the respective categories. She also added two assists and two steals in the game.

The men's volleyball team (2-4, 6th East) played exceptionally well in two tough matches against top teams in the OCAA East Division. The majority of the sets against the Seneca Sting (4-1, 2nd East) and Durham Lords (4-2, 4th East) came down to the wire.

They will look to snap a four-match losing streak with two matches left ahead of the playoffs. First, against Centennial Colts (1-4, 7th East) on the road Wednesday night. The Huskies can take advantage of a team that have only won sets in one of their five matches.

On Saturday afternoon, the Huskies then wrap up their season in possibly a first-round playoff matchup against the Algonquin Wolves (3-2, 5th East). The key in this match is the Huskies have two days off between matches, while the Wolves have a quick turnaround with a match against the Lords on Friday night.

The women's volleyball team (2-4, 6th East) is currently on a two-match losing streak and looking to bounce back in their final two matches. They complete their 2022 regular season with back-to-back home games.

Up first are the Algonquin Wolves (4-1, 3rd East), who are riding a three-match winning streak. However, do not be surprised if this one goes to five sets since the Wolves have gone the distance in their last matches, while the Huskies have done that twice this season.

On Sunday afternoon, they then wrap up the season in the lone match against the La Cite Coyotes (2-3, 5th East). This could be a match that decides who gets the higher seat in the playoffs. Heading into this weekend, the Coyotes have lost three of their last four matches.

The Huskies will honour all the graduating student-athletes prior to each match on Saturday.

Players to Watch

Angelique Agustin (women's volleyball): The fourth-year outside hitter drilled a team-high 15 points on 15 kills while posting an impressive .342% kill percentage on Thursday night. She also had five digs in the match. It is the fourth time Agustin has hit double-digits in points this season.

Arsam Talebi (men's volleyball): In the Huskies last match, the second-year outside hitter had a career performance against the Durham Lords on Saturday afternoon. He matched a career-high 16 points on 11 kills and a career-high five blocks in the loss. This marks the second time he has posted 16 points in a match this season.
