FOUR HUSKIES EARN OCAA HONOURS

After an impressive 6-2 season and finishing first place in the East Division for the second straight season, Teshayn Gayle, Robert Ocampo, Tyvell Peters and Jacob Masters took home OCAA hardware.

Gayle put up career-highs in almost every statistical category as he averaged a team-high 17.2 points, 4.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. The fifth-year guard was a crucial piece to the team’s success. The Huskies went undefeated at 6-0 when he was in the lineup, compared to 0-2. He has experience being the primary option, can run the offence and take over a game with his offensive abilities. He averaged 12.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.8 rebounds while playing under 28 minutes per game. He hit double-digit points in five of the six games he dressed in. His importance to the Huskies was critical since they went 6-0 when he played and 0-2 in games he missed.

He posted top-notch numbers for a rookie averaging 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game, and he did this while averaging just over 20 minutes a game. What was even more impressive was his efficiency shooting the basketball, going 45.7% from the field and 41.9% from deep.
